SCHOOL GARDEN

Trafalgar Middle School Garden

HOW WOULD YOU USE THIS GRANT TO HELP YOUR COMMUNITY?

Trafalgar Middle Builders Club (TMSBC) would use the money to maintain, sustain, improve and enhance the potential of our gardens. It costs about $3,000-5000 + to maintain and sustain our gardens. We have a large organic (26,000 sq. ft.) garden which has provided over 10 tons of fruits and vegetables to local soup kitchens and our school cafeteria. We have a 200 pot hydroponic garden. TMSBC has a Garden of Opportunity for disabled and regular education students built mainly for walkers and wheelchairs. We have a "little" garden providing fruits and vegetables to aforementioned. Finally, we have a "Flower Garden" we use to take flowers to senior citizens when we visit a nursing home. We need to level and work on our 200 pot hydroponic garden. Obviously, the cost to maintain, sustain, improve and enhance the gardens in the future is very important to our continued success.
